Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan, on Thursday, June 23, suffered a nasty mid-pitch collision with Madhya Pradesh fast bowler Gaurav Yadav during the second day of the Ranji Trophy final at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
During the 105th over of the Mumbai innings, his head crashed on to Yadav’s shoulders. The batter was looking at the ball going away to the boundary, but didn’t notice that the bowler was on his way. After he collided with Yadav, Sarfaraz sat on the ground and winced in pain.
He was seen holding the side of his head. Thereafter, the Mumbai doctor hastened on to the field and treated the batter, who was batting on 70. After getting treated, Sarfaraz stood back on his feet and resumed his innings. Luckily for him, he didn’t sustain a major injury.

Sarfaraz was unbeaten on 40 at the close of play on the first day. In the first session on Day 2, the youngster notched a patient half-century off 152 balls. He took his time in the middle and showed an immense amount of character in the crunch match.
Sarfaraz is currently Mumbai’s leading run-scorer in the series. In fact, he is also the top run-getter of the tournament. Before the final, he had scored three centuries and two half-centuries, giving an account of the stupendous skills he possesses.
Sarfaraz came into the Ranji knockout after playing some handy knocks for the Delhi Capitals (DC), led by Rishabh Pant, in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
